Welcome to Songulary. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. By using Songulary, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

A. Location Data (Precise)

Songulary is a social mapping application. To function, we require access to your device's precise location.

• How we use it: Location data is used to place "Music Pins" on the map and to display your current position relative to other pins.
• No Background Tracking: We do not track your location continuously in the background. Your location coordinates are only transmitted and saved to our database when you actively perform an action, such as creating a Music Pin or interacting with the map.

B. User Profile Information

When you sign in, we collect basic profile information:

• Display Name: A name you choose to represent yourself on the social map. This is editable via the Settings tab.
• Authentication Data: We use Authentication (integrated with Google Sign-In) to manage your account secure access.

C. Device Information

We collect information about your mobile device, such as the device ID, operating system (Android), and version to ensure app compatibility and stability.

2. Third-Party Services

We utilize the following third-party services to provide app functionality. These services may process data in accordance with their own privacy policies:

• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Used to deliver push notifications regarding social interactions (follower requests) and music updates.
• Google Maps SDK: Used to visualize the map interface.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

• To render your Music Pins on the global map.
• To enable social features, such as following other users and viewing their shared music.
• To send notifications about new followers or activity related to your pins.
• To maintain your user profile and preferences (e.g., Combined Mode settings).

4. Data Security

We implement security measures, including (RLS), to ensure that your data is only accessible to authorized users. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data only as long as your account is active. You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated data (including your pins and profile). You may delete your account via the app settings or by contacting us.

6. Children's Privacy

Songulary does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete this immediately.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
